THD Public Health Emergency Preparedness Update - April 3  5:30 p.m.

April 3, 2020  5:30 p.m. CST

New Aggregated Dashboard for Reporting

Tulsa Health Department's data and information systems programs rolled out a new aggregated dashboard on THD's website for reporting Tulsa County COVID-19 case information including recoveries. This dashboard was developed using ArcGIS online software using data points provided by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

This data dashboard provides an easy to follow display for all data points and provides our community with centralized information about cases; ultimately more efficient.

North Regional Health And Wellness Center Services Moved To Other THD Locations

After reviewing clinic number over the last two weeks, Tulsa Health Department (THD) officials saw a significant decrease at all open sites due to most services becoming available online and over the phone.

In order to protect the health of the public and reduce the number of staff in the office, THD will temporarily move services for Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) and Immunization Services at the North Regional Health and Wellness Center to Central Regional Health Center and James O. Goodwin Health Center beginning April 6. Clients will be directed to seek services at these two open locations.

During this time, a limited number of WIC and Outreach employees will remain in the building to assist clients by telephone. For questions about services call 918-582-9355 or visit www.tulsa-health.org.

Tulsa Health Department Specimen Collection

This week the Tulsa Health Department conducted specimen collection for COVID-19 testing at a mobile sample collection site at a confidential, unidentified location by appointment only. We remind everyone as resources remain limited at our department, if you have insurance, please call your health care provider. In Tulsa County, the hospital systems continue to test their patients.

Our mobile testing site is to serve those who are pre-screened high-risk individuals who are under- and uninsured. If this is you, please call the Tulsa Health Department at 918-582-9355 for screening to determine if you are eligible for sample collection.

Specimens collected will be sent to Oklahoma State University lab for testing. We appreciate everyone who has been involved with these collections, including the residents who have appointments and have been tested. It is going very well and as more resources become available we will be able to scale up quickly.

Food Safety at Food Establishments

Our food inspectors are still making sure our food supply remains safe. We encourage residents to support our local restaurants and bakeries with a peace of mind knowing our sanitarians are still working with the innovative ways restaurants are open for business.

Our staff is still conducting routine inspections, reaching out to restaurants by phone or in-person visits to offer food safety consults and to review their cleaning procedures to keep your family fed and well. Our goal in public health is to support Tulsans to be happy, healthy and thriving.
